I have been so busy on the last months that I ended up not finding much time to write. I should apologize for take so long to update the blog but let’s start again. I am going to south america for a holiday and I will update the blog with a lot nice photos from the best places in Argentina and Brazil for interior design and architecture. So keep in touch.
Let’s talk about bedheads, I was the other day with a friend looking for a beadhead for her bedroom. I realized that it is not an easier decision so I decided to show you some nice ideas for a beadhead or headboard (how some people call it as well).
NUMBER 1 Upholstery Bedhead
There are so many interesting upholstered bedheads shapes around at the moment. Sure, they can be a little more expensive to have made than the usual square shape, but they can give some extra personality to a room.
Basic square shape with neutral colour. The little accent pics of red and brown colour brings life to this bedroom.
Curved shape deep-buttoned bedhead. Traditional style.
Leather bedhead with gold buttons. I love the mirror antique bed side drawer.
Velvet is an elegant material of choice for the tufted headboard on this romantic sleigh bed.
Dark timber along with a custom tufted headboard gives a very classic style. The use of unmatched bed side tables brings the glamour to the bedroom.
This bedhead shape reminds me a royal chair.
Dark and strong colour for the bedhead. The bedhead became the central point for the bedroom.
Using a taller bedhead can be used in areas that you don’t have a full wall to place the bed. The bedhead and the curtain are working well together.
Upholstery coloured fabric. The light blue colour on the wall and linen breaks the bright yellow used on the bedhead and rug giving a balance to the bedroom.
The dark colour bedroom transforms the bedhead in a feature wall.
The mixed of a strong and traditional bedhead and wallpaper works perfectly in this room. The red curtain and cushions breaks the big amount of yellows and give a charm to this bedroom.
If you never thought about to mix plaid, stripes and flower fabrics think again. It is a very dangerous mixture but it looks amazing when it works.

NUMBER 2 DIY your own Bedhead
If you budget are quite tight. Don’t worried there are some amazing ideas of a low-budget DIY bedhead.
Clever idea using the headboard as a storage. Use an old dresser to create shelves.
I loved this idea. Solid pine door panel mounted to the wall with a paint finish. It looks great for a kid’s bedroom.
Or you can use stencil adhesive to stick on the wall. It looks real.
Made of plywood, plexiglass and vintage album covers.
Did you remember that old fireplace screen. Give a fresh paint and you will have a beautiful bedhead.
Another nice door as a headboard with a whitewash finish. It looks great.
Did you remember that old shutter doors that you thought about to give away. How about to replace the central louvres with a fabric pieces and you will have a pretty headboard
Can you believe that is a photo frame. Photo frame glued together and fixed to the wall with a coloured fabric replacing the image.
Metal artwork fixed to the wall over the bed. The artwork brings a focus point to the wall giving a nice balance to the room.
I am in love for this bedroom. The different fabrics fixed on the old window it is just fabulous.
How about to create your own artwork. Use all sizes and finishes of alphabetic letters.
Awesome idea.

Hello cheeylcartmell,
I am sorry but I don’t know anyone in Brisbane that could help you to fix your bed/bedhead. From your explanation,It doesn’t seems to be difficult to fixed it.
Have you thought about to do yourself. I have learned a lot on how to fix things online. Maybe it will be worth it to try. 😉
